Library Materials Endowment
Permanently endowed funds provide the Library a steady income for the purchase of important academic materials. Endowed funds at the Library can be named in perpetuity and can be designated to specific academic areas. The minimum to endow a fund at the Library is currently $25,000, which can be pledged and paid out over a maximum of 5 years.

Planned Gifts
Please consider the Northwestern University Library as the recipient of your legacy by developing a planned giving strategy with a specialized development officer. Northwestern's Office of Gift Planning will be glad to advise on the various gift options available at the University.

Gifts in-kind
The Library welcomes appraised gifts of books and other printed material that directly support Northwestern studies and are of exceptional quality. Note on the tax status of in-kind gifts: Because the IRS regards the Library as an interested party, the Library itself is unable to provide appraisals, though we are able to provide names of appraisers. The University does not receipt books with an actual value unless the gift is appraised.
