Centers & Institutes
Gifts and endowments to research centers and institutes allow Northwestern faculty members to come together across disciplines to work on topics of common interest.
Northwestern University has a long history of leadership in interdisciplinary research programs and centers. Twenty-one University centers — as well as more than 90 school-based centers — support interdisciplinary research that spans a wide spectrum of areas. These hubs of research link faculty to other members of the academic community in Chicago and across the world, the private sector, and the media, allowing researchers to maximize the impact of their work.
