Reunion Giving

All gifts or pledges from alumni in a reunion year made through October 31 will count toward a Reunion Class Gift. The highest priority for reunion-year giving is to increase giving to the Northwestern Annual Fund, which provides unrestricted dollars for scholarships, academic programs, and operations. However, a gift to any area of the University during a reunion year counts toward a Reunion Class Gift.

Goals for Reunion Class Gifts are set and driven by each class's Reunion Class Committee.

The following types of gifts are automatically credited toward a Reuion Class Gift goal:
  • Outright Gifts
  • Matching Gifts
  • Multi-Year Leadership Pledges: Reunion-year alumni who make a five-year commitment of $5,000 or more ($1,000+ annually over five years) may count the entire pledge total toward a Reunion Class Gift. If a spouse shares a reunion year, both individuals will receive recognition. Spouses celebrating reunions in different years may count their contribution towards both reunions. Alumni celebrating a 5th year reunion may count a pledge of $1,500 or more ($300+ annaully over five years). Download a pledge for here and mail it to far or mail it to the Reunion program.
  • Planned Gifts: The full amount of irrevocable gifts such as gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts are credited toward a Reunion Class Gift. Revocable gifts such as bequests and remainder interests in retirement plans may be discounted based upon the donor's age at the time a commitment is disclosed in writing to the University.
  • Participatory Gift: A gift of any amount to the Northwestern Annual Fund.
