Dreaming Big

As 2019 begins, NU Loyal marks its fifth anniversary of celebrating alumni, parents, and friends who have been consistent annual donors for three or more consecutive years. Members of this dedicated community span many generations, from recent graduates to platinum-level members like Dorothy Saxe ’46, who has made a gift to the University annually for more than 70 years.

Since the start of We Will. The Campaign for Northwestern, there have been more than 50,000 members of the NU Loyal giving society. The new NU Loyal goal is 55,000—a key part the University’s effort to build on success and raise funds for emerging academic priorities.

What difference does NU Loyal make? Consistent annual support ensures students’ access to a world-class education—61% of Northwestern undergraduate students currently receive some form of financial aid. Collectively, NU Loyal members sustain the University’s eminence, fuel innovation in teaching, and underwrite pioneering faculty and student research across countless fields.

“Year after year, NU Loyal members provide a critical measure of support for Northwestern, enabling the University to dream big,” says Charles L. Katzenmeyer ’85, ’89 MBA, chair of NU Loyal. “Together, we have an essential role at Northwestern and we shape the University’s impact around the world.”
