The New York Regional Office of Alumni Relations and Development was established in 2006 to connect local alumni, parents, and friends to the University though philanthropy and engagement. Located in Manhattan’s Rockefeller Center, the office helps foster a dynamic Northwestern community in Greater New York, elevates the University’s national visibility, and supports transformative educational programs.
Under the leadership of Executive Director Becky Yi, the New York office’s dedicated fundraising staff works with alumni and friends to promote Northwestern and generate support for the University’s most important priorities.
In addition to fundraising, the New York office partners with regional volunteer groups and alumni clubs to provide networking opportunities and educational programming. The New York community comes together to hear from University speakers, build connections with fellow alumni and friends, and galvanize support for Northwestern programs and initiatives.
Northwestern New York’s dynamic community includes a variety of volunteer groups and club organizations. The New York office supports regional volunteers for the Northwestern University Leadership Circle (NULC), as well as local school- and affinity-based clubs. These groups offer a range of networking, education, and social opportunities to their members, as follows:
The NULC recognizes donors who make cumulative annual gifts of $1,000 or more. NULC members play a critical role in advancing Northwestern through gifts that expand the University’s positive impact on the world and create opportunities for students to thrive. The NULC New York Regional Board members help increase Leadership Circle membership in the New York area and thus raise critical funds for the University.
The New York Regional Office also collaborates with several school-based clubs and affinity groups, including the NU Club of Greater New York, Medill Club of New York, Kellogg Alumni Club of New York, Kellogg Finance Network, and Pritzker Law Alumni Club, and regional chapters of the Black Alumni Association and Northwestern University Pride Alumni Club. These groups come together throughout the year for industry meet-ups, educational panels, cultural tours, social events, mentoring activities, and more.
