School of Communication

The School of Communication offers opportunities to study the full range of communication arts and sciences, including filmmaking and interactive arts; acting, music theatre, dance, and performance; hearing, voice, and cognition; and the social, political, and cultural functions of communication. Regardless of specialization, our school attracts creative people who see opportunity in a truly interdisciplinary environment.

Can a tablet app help the elderly connect with younger family generations? Can food packaging be used to help families make better choices? Can a new production of a timeless legend be relevant to today’s audiences? Our faculty researchers are finding the answers to these and many more questions—and bringing that passion for inquiry into the classroom for the benefit of those who will lead us into the next generation of discovery and invention.

Gifts to the School of Communication help us remain at the forefront of the communication arts and sciences by:

  • Supporting the research and creative projects of our outstanding faculty.
  • Enhancing our undergraduate curricular, co-curricular, and career development programs.
  • Developing new opportunities for professional and graduate study in communication.

Direct your gift to an individual funding priority, or give to the School of Communication Annual Fund, which provides support for the school’s most critical funding needs.

Gifts of $1,000 annually or more are recognized with membership in the Annie May Swift Society and are listed in our annual report calendar.
