Help Weinberg College Students Thrive in a Complex World

At the Judd A. and Marjorie Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University, we are committed to supporting the immediate and ongoing needs of our students—and to our mission of intellectual and personal growth.

Now more than ever, the value of an interdisciplinary arts and sciences education is clear. We help students develop a Northwestern Mindset—a flexible, adaptable view of the world that seeks to understand the pressing issues of today and transform them into the promising new opportunities of tomorrow. Developing this includes the abilities to analyze and use data, question cultural assumptions, study our bond with nature, and foster intellectual diversity.

Gifts to the Weinberg College Annual Fund allow the dean, faculty, and staff to support our mission and expand opportunities for everyone in our Northwestern community.

Dean’s Strategic Framework

Dean Adrian Randolph has identified the following thematic areas of focus for Weinberg College.

  • A Data Revolution focuses on strengthening the quantitative disciplines through initiatives such as the data science program, center for quantitative biology, economics initiative, and Arch Scholars program.
  • When Cultures Meet focuses on enhancing cultural competencies and experiences for our students, and investing in faculty research that furthers our global intercultural understanding through initiatives such as the Global Health Studies program, Chabraja Center for Historical Studies, Center for the Study of Diversity and Democracy, and Arts for ’Cats.
  • The Nature of Things focuses on how to conceive of our position in and with nature through initiatives investing in fundamental science, drawing together scholars from diverse areas and bolstering the interdisciplinary environmental studies program—joining scientists, humanists, and social scientists to engage in conversations about humankind’s relationship with nature.
